Small Intro...

Who am I and why start a blog?  I’ve been asking myself these same questions over the last few days.  “Who am I?” is honestly the most difficult to answer.  “What” is much easier, so I’ll start there.  I’m a veteran:  I spent over 15 years on active duty in the Air Force having served stateside, in England and Iraq.  I’m a wife:  Married to the perfect husband for over 10 years, who is an exceptional father to our children.  I’m a mother:  Who would have thought that I’d be the mother of three beautiful children and a mentor and step-mom to a lovely and intelligent young woman.  More importantly than all of these, I am a Christian:  God is my true Father, Jesus is my Light and Rock and the Spirit leads and convicts me daily.  One of my favorite Scriptures is 2Kings 6:16-17, “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”  And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, LORD, so that he may see.” Then the LORD opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.  This Scripture reminds me that, although we may feel alone and the situation looks bleak, God is with us in all battles - be it in the physical or spiritual realm.  Now, as to the “Who,” I still don’t know if I can answer that question.  My friends have told me that I am dedicated, busy, loyal and loving.  Oh, I missed one - opinionated.  That leads me to the why...
A friend of mine, Rich, approached me recently and told me I should start a blog.  At first I thought he meant a blog like I’ve seen many stay/work at home moms start.  (That is NOT me...I’m not that kind of SAHM as I am finding out.)  But then he elaborated.  A political blog.  “Me?” I thought.  He shared with me that my FB posts have been thought provoking.  (A little background:  Rich is a democrat.  I, on the other hand, am a proud Conservative.)  He said (my posts/opinions) made him think he may be voting Republican next go around.  HA!  Wow, was I surprised.  But, sheesh, there are SOOO many politico blogs out there.  Why me?  I’m mean really, why me?  I have a unique perspective, according to Rich.  (Vet, SAHM, OIF vet, wife, etc...)
So, here we are and I’m typing out my first post.  I’ll leave you with this thought:  As we go forward these coming days remember what Elisha and the servant witnessed.  God IS with us.  I believe that He has anointed America with a great role.  America has turned her back on God.  It’s our job to get her back on track.  God is with us in this fight, I’m sure of it!
